Hi, I am new to the forum and I'm hoping you guys can help me. I have a Seagate Backup Plus and I backed up a ton of pic files and word documents to it and on the same laptop I backed it up on, I checked the files and they were all there. I deleted all the files and pictures off my laptop and then re-checked the backup. All the files were still there.
About a month later, my laptop was stolen so I felt pretty good that I had taken all my personal docs and pictures off of it. I just now hooked up my backup to a new computer and you guessed it, all the files are gone. I looked at Properties and then file size and it's huge..like a ton of files are there...but I don't have access to them...what do I do? Please help! I had over 200 pages of a book I've been working on FOREVER and I'm heartbroken thinking it's gone.

I purchased a MBP about 2-3 weeks ago, and lovin' every minute. At work I am still forced to run a PC, and having some problems with it so I decided it would be smart to buy an external drive to backup that information. As a bonus, I would like to be able to use the drive on my Mac as well to backup personal data as well. My choice in drive was a Seagate 1TB GoFlex external drive.

The Seagate Thunderbolt adapter supports existing GoFlex external hard drive and standard SATA internal drive. It also supports high resolution display and high performance data devices through a single port. Seagate Thunderbolt Adapter For GoFlex Desk (STAE122) Last updated Jun 18, 2012. GoFlex Desk Drive, Mac OS X operating system 10. Well im buying a new 250GB Seagate FreeAgent Go USB 2.5' EXTERNAL Hard Drive for my friends nintendo wii. Will this 100% work? I bought 1 before but not same as this one and i would like to know if it will work. Heres the ebay add.

Mac

When setting up the drive, I chose the option to work on both Mac & PC. I installed the Paragon NTFS driver (v8.0) that was included on the drive. After install, I rebooted and then confirmed registration. The drive mounts when I plug it in, but is currently in READ ONLY mode. Supposedly the Paragon driver enables the Mac to READ/WRITE to NTFS drives like this one.

I am uncertain what to do to fix. I tried calling Paragon and got voicemail. I have sent an email through their support system, but they aren't very responsive. Surely I am not the only Mac guy with this problem, and was hoping the community here could help me resolve this.

Please help!

FYI - I have not mounted to my Windows PC yet.
