Mac Os High Sierra No Manual Adjust Brightness Monitor

Jun 11, 2018  Since upgrading to High Sierra Mac OS 10.13.2 I have not been able to adjust the screen brightness or volume via my MacBook Pro Retina 15-inch Mid 2014's keyboard. You can still adjust the brightness using Settings Displays Brightness. I spoke with 2 AppleCare Representatives and neither had even heard of the issue before.

Hi, I'm new to hackintosh. it is possible to adjust my laptop display brightness? The display show built-in display with black monitor image but i cannot find any setting or option to adjust brightness. Can refer to image below. The display preferences pane is working with custom EDID.

Your display’s resolution determines the size of text and objects on your screen. By default, the resolution on your display is set to show the sharpest text and the most detailed images. While it’s best to use the default resolution, you can manually set the resolution to make text and objects appear larger on your screen, or adjust it to make text and objects appear smaller so you have more space on your screen.

Set the resolution for your primary display

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then click Display.

  2. Select Scaled, then select one of the options.

Set the resolution for a connected display

If you have more than one display, additional resolution options are available after the display is connected.

  1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click Displays, then click Display.

  2. Press and hold the Option key while you click Scaled to see additional resolutions for the second display.

  3. Select a scaled resolution option for the second display.

Depending on how you adjust the resolution, some app windows may not fit entirely on the screen. Using a scaled resolution may affect performance.
